SriLanka, March 15 -- The government has decided to implement the National Fuel Authorization System using QR codes for fuel distribution with effect from 6.00 a.m. today (March 15), the Ministry of Energy announced.
The decision has been taken in view of the ongoing military situation in the Middle East, which has disrupted global fuel supply routes and caused an abnormal increase in fuel demand in the country. Authorities said the existing fuel reserves must be carefully managed to ensure that economic activities continue without interruption.
