Sri Lanka, Oct. 9 -- A private bus involved in a collision with a Metro bus in Athurugiriya town has been temporarily suspended from service after a vehicle examiner found that it had not been properly maintained.

The collision occurred yesterday (08) near the 170 bus stop in Athurugiriya, when a private bus on the Athurugiriya-Pettah route collided with a Metro bus on the Millennium City-Pettah route.

Police said the accident occurred when the private bus driver tried to reverse across the main road to enter the Athurugiriya bus stand.

Following the incident, Athurugiriya Police arranged for a motor vehicle examiner to inspect the private bus. Based on the inspection, the examiner recommended temporarily suspending the bus from opera...
