Sri Lanka, March 19 -- Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake held a phone conversation with His Highness the Emir of Qatar to discuss the regional situation and its wider implications, the President's Media Division said.
During the call, President Dissanayake inquired about the well-being of the approximately 150,000 Sri Lankans living in Qatar, expressing solidarity and support for the Qatari state amid ongoing developments. The Emir briefed the President on prevailing conditions and assured that all residents, including Sri Lankan nationals, remain safe.
