Sri Lanka, June 10 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has extended warm congratulations to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in the history of India.

In a congratulatory message, President Dissanayake said that Sri Lanka values its close partnership with India and looks forward to further strengthening the enduring ties between the two neighbouring nations.

Prime Minister Modi achieved the historic milestone on June 10, 2026, completing 4,399 consecutive days in office since first taking the oath as Prime Minister on May 26, 2014.
