Sri Lanka, May 11 -- The Power tariff hike will drive investors away while it has been act of subjecting them to extrusion, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said yesterday.

" It is large scale industrialists and upper middle class people who use more than 180 units . Therefore this is clearly an action of subjecting them to extrusion" Premadasa said in a special statement.

" The government always talks of foreign direct investments. Actually, the power tariff increase will drive away foreign investors " he added.

He said the tariff hike will also affect the small and medium entrepreneurs as well.
