Sri Lanka, April 22 -- Political parties are to tone down May Day celebrations as it falls on a full moon day this year. The ruling party has also decided to celebrate May Day at district level.
The ruling National People's Power is to hold rallies in all districts due to the fuel crisis Daily Mirror learnt. "We did not want to bring down people to a single location because of the fuel crisis," a party spokesman told the Daily Mirror.
Some main opposition parties have also decided against holding May Day rallies, citing the full moon Poya day.
