Sri Lanka, May 19 -- Police is seeking assistance to arrest a key suspect linked to the brutal shooting of a lawyer and his wife in Thalangama.

The double murder took place on February 16, 2026, at a supermarket parking area in Akuregoda, Thalangama.

Investigations have revealed that the suspect is believed to have acted as the driver of the getaway vehicle used by the gunmen involved in the attack.

Police have identified the suspect as Kaluarachchi Liyanage Niluksha Weerasinghe, aged 29, holder of National Identity Card (NIC) No. 199714103549, a resident of Weerasinghe Malkalawa, Paragoda, Imaduwa.
