Sri Lanka, June 23 -- A Police Inspector was arrested by officials from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) while accepting a bribe of Rs. 1 million at a hotel in Kalutara North.

The suspect has been identified as a Police Inspector attached to the Kalutara Special Crimes Investigation Bureau (SCIB), operating under the Kalutara South Police Station.

According to the police, the arrest followed a complaint filed by a citizen regarding a vehicle investigation currently being conducted by the Kalutara SCIB.
