Sri Lanka, April 14 -- Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya has extended her wishes to the nation in a message marking the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, highlighting unity, renewal and collective strength.

In her message, the Prime Minister noted that the New Year, celebrated following the traditional solar transition and harvest season, is more than a cultural festivity, describing it as a symbol of prosperity, coexistence and strengthened relationships among Sri Lankans.
