Sri Lanka, Sept. 7 -- Pinnawala Zoo marked World Cat Day with a special educational programme featuring the public debut of three leopard cubs born at the zoo.

The programme, held on August 17, 2026, focused on promoting awareness and conservation of Sri Lanka's wild cat species, particularly among children and young people.

A major highlight was the first public appearance of the three leopard cubs born at Pinnawala Zoo. The public was also given an opportunity to suggest names for the cubs, with nearly 500 entries received from across the country.
