PHIs go on sick leave today over transfer
Sri Lanka, Aug. 21 -- Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) across the country have reported sick leave today as part of an islandwide symbolic trade union action over the transfer of a PHI attached to the Health Office at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake.
The trade union action has been launched following the transfer of Public Health Inspector B.H. Meegasdeniya, who the association claims was transferred after raising objections to alleged illegal activities at the airport health office.
