Patients at risk due to leadership vacuum at J'pura hospital, Doctor claims
Sri Lanka, Aug. 3 -- The failure to appoint a qualified director to the Jayawardenapura General Hospital has triggered an administrative crisis that is putting patient care at risk, Doctors' Trade Union Alliance for Medical and Civil Rights Chairman and Specialist Dr. Chamal Sanjeewa alleged. He said the Health Ministry has failed for more than a year to appoint a qualified medical specialist with expertise in hospital administration to head the institution.
He claimed that the absence of a qualified director has created serious administrative difficulties, affecting the smooth functioning of the hospital and placing additional pressure on specialist doctors and other healthcare staff.
