Sri Lanka, Feb. 20 -- The number of suspects arrested under the nationwide 'Ratama Ekata' operation has exceeded 99,000, Police said.
According to the Police Media Division, a total of 99,540 suspects have been taken into custody so far as part of the ongoing drive aimed at disrupting the supply of illegal drugs across the island.
Police stated that investigations into illegally acquired assets have been launched against 137 suspects. Detention orders have been obtained for 1,973 individuals, while 1,639 suspects have been referred for rehabilitation.
During the operation, officers seized 524 kg and 906 g of heroin and 1,416 kg and 41 g of crystal methamphetamine (ice). In addition, 11 kg and 674 g of cannabis, 199 kg and 864 g of coc...
