Sri Lanka, Aug. 25 -- A total of 16,647 people from 4,241 families have been affected by adverse weather conditions reported across several districts of Sri Lanka from 6.00 p.m. on August 3 to 6.00 a.m. today (25), to the latest situation report issued by the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said.

The affected population has been reported across 15 districts, with Colombo recording the highest number of affected persons at 7,736, followed by Kandy with 4,925 and Ratnapura with 2,487.

According to the DMC report, nine deaths have been reported during the period, while 60 people have been injured and two people are reported missing.

A total of 741 houses have been partially damaged, while eight houses have been completely damaged.
