Sri Lanka, March 2 -- Sri Lanka has logged a total of 13,416 dengue cases so far this year, the National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) said.

According to Community Physician Specialist Dr. Prasheela Samaraweera of the unit, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Colombo and Gampaha districts, while cases have also emerged in Galle, Matara and Ratnapura.

Meanwhile, the official confirmed four deaths being reported so far.

In light of the situation, Dr. Samaraweera urged the public to seek medical attention from a qualified doctor if a fever persists for more than two days.
