Sri Lanka, March 26 -- The Digital Economy Ministry says it has received more than 1,000 complaints regarding fraudulent activities involving the use of other persons' QR codes to obtain fuel.
Ministry said investigations have been launched in coordination with the police into the complaints received.
They said, however, that some of the complaints also relate to incidents where fuel had been obtained using another person's QR code due to mistakes or lack of awareness.
According to the Ministry, more than 150 complaints have already been referred to the police for further action, and several suspects have been arrested in connection with those incidents.
