SriLanka, Oct. 1 -- The Court of Appeal today issued an open warrant for the arrest of Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera after he failed to appear before court for the second consecutive day in connection with contempt of court proceedings.

The Court ordered that the warrant be executed through the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The two-judge bench comprised Justices Mayadunne Corea and Lakmali Karunanayake.
