New move to speed up Motor Traffic services
SriLanka, Sept. 13 -- The Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) has launched a programme aimed at reducing the time taken by the public to obtain services, Commissioner General of Motor Traffic Retired Air Vice Marshal Thushara Fernando said.
He said discussions had been held with all Commissioners and necessary arrangements were being made to ensure that members of the public receive the services they require within the shortest possible time.
According to the Commissioner General, people who arrive at the Department as early as 7.00 or 8.00 a.m. have sometimes had to remain there for several hours, with some leaving only around 2.00 p.m.
