Sri Lanka, Sept. 24 -- The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) has introduced mandatory pre-migration training for first-time job seekers travelling to Japan and Romania.

The requirement applies to all job categories in both countries, and first-time job seekers will not be able to obtain Bureau registration without completing the relevant training.

According to the SLBFE, the new requirement came into effect from September 15.

First-time job seekers heading to Japan are required to complete a two-day training programme, while those travelling to Romania must complete a three-day programme.

Registration for the training can be made at any branch of the Foreign Employment Bureau, with a training fee being charged.
