Sri Lanka, May 26 -- The Cabinet has approved the appointment of M.K.D.N. Madampe as the new Director General of the Management Services Department with immediate effect.

The appointment was approved following a proposal submitted by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.

A committee appointed by the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development had been tasked with recommending a suitable officer for the vacant post after former Director General Wimal S.K. Liyanagama was appointed as the Director General of Customs.
