Nawalapitiya-Badulla train services to resume by December
Sri Lanka, Sept. 9 -- Engineers overseeing the restoration of the railway line between Great Western and Nanuoya railway stations expect to complete the reconstruction work by December this year, paving the way for the resumption of train services between Nawalapitiya and Badulla.
The engineers said the railway line at the 199.5-kilometre post between Great Western and Nanuoya was the worst-affected section and required extensive restoration.
They expressed these views during an inspection of the ongoing restoration work by Nuwara Eliya District Parliamentarian and District Coordinating Committee Chairman Manjula Suraweerachchi.
