Sri Lanka, April 10 -- Ten Indian fishermen were apprehended while allegedly poaching in Sri Lankan waters north of Mannar.
The North Central Naval Command detected a group of Indian fishing vessels engaged in illegal fishing after entering Sri Lankan waters.
Naval craft were subsequently deployed to drive away the intruding boats from the island's waters off Mannar.
During the operation, naval personnel carried out a compliant boarding, leading to the seizure of one Indian trawler and the arrest of 10 fishermen who had continued their illegal activities.
The seized vessel and the apprehended fishermen were handed over to the Mannar Fisheries Inspector for further legal proceedings.
