Navy board probes Angulana craft accident
Srilanka, Aug. 16 -- The Sri Lanka Navy has appointed a special board of inquiry to investigate the sinking of a Fast Attack Craft off the Angulana coast, as search operations continue for a missing naval officer and salvage efforts are underway to recover the vessel.
The incident occurred on August 15, 2026, when the Fast Attack Craft encountered difficulties off Angulana while returning from a routine patrol. The Navy said the expert panel will conduct a preliminary investigation to establish the circumstances and factors that led to the incident.
