Sri Lanka, Oct. 27 -- President's Counsel Ali Sabry, appearing on behalf of Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa in connection with the Krrish deal case, today filed a motion before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court seeking bail, citing Namal Rajapaksa's mother's medical condition as an exceptional circumstance.

Making submissions in support of the application, President's Counsel Ali Sabry informed court that Shiranthi Rajapaksa was scheduled to undergo an open-heart surgery at 4 p.m. today.

He further submitted that she was currently using a pacemaker and that Rajapaksa's father was also in poor health.
