Sri Lanka, Aug. 26 -- SLPP National Organiser and Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has called on the Government to take immediate action over reports of WhatsApp, Facebook and Telegram networks allegedly being used to distribute intimate images without consent and exploit women, children and other vulnerable individuals.

In a post on X, Namal said the reported misuse of digital platforms required urgent government intervention, while also highlighting what he described as the growing use of politically motivated fake accounts and coordinated online networks to harass, manipulate and target individuals.

"Digital platforms cannot become a safe haven for criminals, abusers or those who weaponise them for political purposes," he said.
