Sri Lanka, Sept. 8 -- Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organiser and Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa arrived at Parliament in a prison bus today to participate in parliamentary sittings.

The prison bus carrying Rajapaksa arrived at the Parliament premises as Parliament is scheduled to meet until September 11.

Responding to questions from journalists at the Parliament entrance about the current situation, Rajapaksa said he would make a statement in Parliament.

"I will say it in Parliament. I can't do it here," he told the media.

The Secretary General of Parliament had yesterday written to the Commissioner General of Prisons requesting that arrangements be made for Rajapaksa to attend Parliament.
