Sri Lanka, July 7 -- The University of Moratuwa has been temporarily closed for two weeks due to a dengue risk, university authorities said.

The closure took effect yesterday (July 6) as a precautionary measure following concerns over the spread of the disease on campus.

The university is currently conducting examinations, and reports indicate that several students suffering from fever had attended the exams.

As such, authorities decided to temporarily suspend academic activities to minimise the risk of further infections and protect students and staff.
