Sri Lanka, March 9 -- The four Sri Lankans who were injured in recent attacks in the Middle East have been discharged from the hospital and are recovering, said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arun Hemachandra.

In a statement, Hemachandra said he had spoken over the phone with three of the injured Sri Lankan nationals, who confirmed that they were safe and recovering well.

Although the contact details of the fourth individual remain unreachable, the Deputy Minister noted that the person has also been safely discharged from hospital.

Hemachandra stressed that the safety and well-being of Sri Lankan nationals overseas remains a priority, adding that Sri Lanka's diplomatic missions in the region are closely monitoring the situation.
