Sri Lanka, Aug. 19 -- A 46-year-old man has been arrested by the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) for allegedly spreading false and unverified information claiming that an LTTE training camp was operating inside a forest reserve in Akkarayankulam.

According to the Police, the suspect allegedly circulated the claims through a video on social media and during a media briefing.

Police said he was arrested on August 18 over allegations that an LTTE training camp was being operated in the Palai forest reserve within the Akkarayankulam Police area.

The suspect is a resident of Bellanwila, Boralesgamuwa.

He is due to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.
