SriLanka, Oct. 1 -- Bimputh Lanka Investments PLC, formerly Bimputh Finance and part of former Minister Daya Gamage's Daya Group, has disclosed that its liquidator has filed a preliminary report on the winding up and called for statements of affairs from its directors, with the liabilities exceeding the assets by close to Rs.2.2 billion, according to a stock filing.

G.K. Sudath Kumar, who was appointed as liquidator on June 26, 2025, "has since called for statements of affairs from the company's directors and has filed his preliminary report on the conduct of the liquidation", the filing noted. The company disclosed the appointment to the market only this week, some 15 months after it took effect.
