Sri Lanka, March 8 -- The University of Peradeniya has issued a safety notice to students and staff following several reported leopard sightings within the university premises.
According to an internal memo issued by the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, the decision was taken at a University Safety Committee meeting held on March 4, after recent sightings and related incidents were reported within the campus.
The notice states that leopards have been spotted in several areas of the university, while a number of attacks on farm animals have also been reported at the Veterinary Teaching Farm.
