Sri Lanka, March 20 -- A special islandwide sales promotion campaign offering discounts of up to 40% on essential goods was launched today (20) by Lanka Sathosa, targeting relief for consumers ahead of the Sinhala and Hindu New Year season.

The programme, introduced under the theme "Satosin Piri Yusho Siri," covers around 600 essential items available across the state-run retail network. In addition to discounted prices, customers spending over Rs. 2,500 will receive a coupon, with winners eligible for prizes including a BAW electric car, electric scooters, furniture sets, and smartphones through a raffle draw scheduled for the end of April.
