Sri Lanka, Oct. 5 -- A train operating from Peradeniya Junction to Colombo Fort derailed between the Gangoda and Kadigamuwa railway stations early today after soil and rocks fell onto the railway track, reportedly due to heavy rainfall.

The express train, scheduled to leave Peradeniya at 4.40 a.m., was affected by the incident.

Railway authorities said the train could face delays or cancellation, while other trains operating in both directions along the affected section of the Main Line are also experiencing delays.
