Sri Lanka, March 31 -- The Negombo High Court today (31) granted bail to four suspects, including two sons of former Minister Johnston Fernando, who had been remanded over the alleged misuse of a Lanka Sathosa lorry.

The former Working Director and the former Transport Manager of Lanka Sathosa were among those released on bail.

The suspects had been arrested and remanded following an investigation by the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) into the alleged misuse of a lorry belonging to the state-owned enterprise.

Authorities allege that the vehicle was used for activities linked to an ethanol company reportedly owned by Johnston Fernando, resulting in an estimated loss of Rs. 2.5 million to the state.
