Jaffna Kings franchise agreement terminated over alleged integrity breaches
Sri Lanka, July 25 -- Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced that the Jaffna Kings franchise agreement in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) has been terminated following alleged breaches of anti-corruption and integrity provisions.
In a statement issued on July 25, 2026, SLC said it had been informed by the LPL Event Rights Partner, Innovative Production Group FZ LLC (IPG), that it had exercised its contractual right to terminate the Jaffna Kings Franchise Agreement.
Under the LPL Event Rights Agreement, IPG will assume responsibility for all obligations of the Jaffna franchise, including settling outstanding payments due to players and fulfilling all other contractual commitments of the franchise.
