IRD revenue tops Rs. 2,040 bn in nine months
Sri Lanka, Oct. 2 -- The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has collected more than Rs. 2,040 billion in tax revenue during the first nine months of 2026, recording a 24% increase compared to the corresponding period last year.
According to the IRD, revenue collection as of September 30, 2026, stood at Rs. 2,040 billion, compared to Rs. 1,642 billion collected during the same period in 2025.
This represents an increase of Rs. 398 billion year-on-year.
The department said it has already achieved 85% of its annual revenue target for 2026 by the end of the third quarter.
