India donates anti-TB medicines worth Rs. 52 Mn to Sri Lanka
SriLanka, Oct. 7 -- India has donated a consignment of essential anti-tuberculosis (TB) medicines to Sri Lanka to support the continued availability of treatment for TB patients in the country.
The medicines were handed over by Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Santosh Jha to Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa at the Ministry of Health in Colombo today. Deputy Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni was also present.
The donation was made in response to a request from the Sri Lankan Government and was facilitated with the support of India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
