Sri Lanka, Aug. 18 -- SLPP Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has questioned how NPP ministers could predict that he would be sentenced to prison when the court has yet to deliver its verdict.

"I really want to ask the NPP Ministers one simple question. How do they know that I am going to prison in a few days when the court has not even given its verdict?" he said.

Rajapaksa said he has faith in the judiciary and would respect whatever decision the court makes.

"That is how it should be. The judge should hear the case, look at the evidence and make the decision," he said.

He said statements by ministers predicting a court verdict would naturally raise questions among the public.

"When Ministers come out and say that I am going to jail ...
