House of Fashions owner remanded after Customs arrest
SriLanka, July 18 -- House of Fashions owner and Managing Director Preethi Jayawardena has been arrested over an alleged Customs violation and remanded while receiving treatment at the National Hospital in Colombo after developing a heart-related medical condition.
Sri Lanka Customs officers arrested Jayawardena at his residence during a special investigation into a customs valuation issue.
Customs senior official told the Daily Mirror Jayawardena developed a heart-related medical condition while in the custody of Customs officers and was subsequently admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo.
The Colombo Chief Magistrate later visited the hospital, observed the suspect, and ordered that he be remanded.
