Sri Lanka, March 9 -- Health officials have warned that the prevailing hot weather conditions in the country could lead to an increase in skin problems and dehydration among children.
According to health experts, high temperatures can cause common skin conditions such as heat rashes, irritation and fungal infections, with children being more vulnerable due to their delicate skin and frequent exposure to outdoor heat.
Officials also cautioned that extreme heat increases the risk of dehydration among children, which can lead to problems such as poor sleep, fatigue and loss of appetite.
Experts said allowing children to cool down by playing with water under proper supervision can help reduce body heat during hot weather.
