Sri Lanka, May 4 -- Sri Lanka will experience unsettled weather conditions with both hot daytime temperatures and afternoon showers affecting several parts of the country in the coming days.

According to the Department of Meteorology, the heat index, or the temperature felt on the human body, is expected to rise to "caution level" in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Colombo, Gampaha, Hambantota and Monaragala districts during the daytime.

The department advised the public to take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related discomfort.
