Sri Lanka, Nov. 2 -- Showers or thundershowers exceeding 75mm are likely at some places in several parts of the country, particularly in the North-Central, North-Western, Central, Uva, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and the Trincomalee District, the Department of Meteorology warned.

According to the department, showers may also occur in the Southern Province and Ampara District during the morning hours.

The public has been urged to take adequate precautions to minimise possible damage caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Meanwhile, misty conditions are also expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces during the early hours of the morning.
