Sri Lanka, June 27 -- The Meteorology Department has forecast continued rainy and windy conditions across several parts of the country over the next 36 hours, with fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm expected in some areas.

According to the latest weather forecast issued at 4.00 p.m. today (27), showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North Western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts. Fairly heavy falls above 50 mm are likely at some places in these areas.

Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva Province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m.
