Sri Lanka, June 7 -- The Department of Meteorology has forecast continued showers and thunderstorms across several parts of the country, with heavy rainfall and strong winds expected in some areas.

According to the latest weather advisory, showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

"Heavy rainfall of around 100 mm is likely at some locations in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the districts of Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya,"

Meanwhile, a few showers are also expected in the Anuradhapura District.
