Sri Lanka, May 4 -- A routine boat trip turned into a scene of high tension recently when MP Ramanathan Archchuna reportedly refused to wear a mandatory life jacket, leading to a fierce confrontation with fellow passengers and boat operators.
The incident, captured on video and widely circulated, began when the boat operator requested all passengers to don their life jackets before departure for safety reasons. While all other passengers complied, the MP allegedly refused, claiming he knew how to swim and therefore did not require one. This refusal caused a significant delay, leaving other passengers waiting in the sun for nearly half an hour.
