Sri Lanka, Sept. 3 -- The heat index, which indicates the temperature felt by the human body, is expected to rise to the 'Caution' level in several parts of the country during the daytime.

The North Central and Eastern provinces, as well as Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Vavuniya, Monaragala and Hambantota districts, are likely to experience elevated heat levels.

Authorities have advised the public to take precautions during hot weather, particularly during daytime hours, and to remain hydrated while limiting prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
