Sri Lanka, April 27 -- The Ministry of Health has directed all medical professionals to immediately report any suspected cases of measles through the national surveillance system.
Speaking to Daily Mirror, Community Physician at the Epidemiology Unit, Dr. Athula Liyanapathirana said patients presenting with symptoms such as fever and skin rashes must be promptly notified to health authorities for monitoring and response.
Dr Liyanapathirana has also instructed doctors in private hospitals to refer such patients to government hospitals for further management and proper tracking.
He stressed that vaccination remains the most effective method to prevent the spread of the disease.
