Sri Lanka, July 21 -- Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Harsha de Silva has praised the Southern Expressway's emergency roadside assistance service after he and his wife experienced a tyre-related incident while travelling on the expressway.

In a post on X, the MP said the incident occurred on the Southern Expressway last evening and described it as "a bit of a scary situation."

De Silva said that after calling the expressway's '1969 Emergency Roadside Assistance' service, a response team arrived within minutes and helped resolve the issue.

"They were professional and courteous. In fact, they wouldn't let me change; did it themselves, which I don't think is even their responsibility," he said.
