Sri Lanka, Oct. 29 -- Hands of some members of the government top brass are stained with Tusker Kawantissa's blood, a group of environmentalists alleged yesterday.

Environmentalist Nanyanaka Ranwella said many are responsible for negligence when treating Kawantissa and therefore the hands of Agriculture Minister K. D. Lal Kantha and Minister of Environment Dhammika Patabendi are stained with the tusker's blood.

"It essential to probe and determine the real wrong doers and accordingly it is important to find out who is responsible for negligence. We say Ministers Lal Kantha and Palabendi are responsible.
