Sri Lanka, April 7 -- The government has decided to introduce concessions for households that consume low units of electricity, Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Vijith Herath said.

Addressing the weekly Cabinet briefing, he noted that an allocation has been made for the initiative, with further recommendations to be announced in the future.

Accordingly, special concessions will be provided to consumers who use lower levels of electricity, as part of the government's efforts to support households and promote efficient energy use.
